What drives us
Those who understand history see the present more clearly.
The effects of past wars, injustice, and persecution continue to be felt to this day. At the same time, we must confront new conflicts and injustices that sometimes have more in common with the past than we might assume at first glance.
Those who engage with history come to understand where we come from and the responsibility we bear for the present. After all, attacks on democracy, certain social groups, or individuals often happen right beside us. We are convinced that remembrance must not stand still; it must inspire action. That is why we promote dialogue, solidarity, and civil courage. These form the basis for peaceful coexistence in Europe and beyond. By listening, exchanging ideas, taking responsibility, and taking action, we can make a difference. And we can play a part in making the way we live together more supportive and more just.
