The Kreisau Model
Education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background, abilities, or impairments. This is where the “Kreisau Model” training series comes in: through regular training and professional development sessions, youth work professionals come together to make their projects more inclusive, diversity-sensitive, and trauma-sensitive.
There, they can share experiences, reflect on their own attitudes, learn practical methods, and develop new ideas for inclusive projects together. The result of this exchange is clear: it helps ensure that people with disabilities and limited mobility, as well as people without disabilities, can take part in inclusive projects.
In the past, we have focused in particular on expanding our collaboration with Greek partners. This has led to the development of the “Kreisau Model goes Greece” training series, which consists of four training modules focusing on language and communication, inclusion and art education, open stage formats, and sport and dance.
The training sessions show that social participation in educational projects begins when professionals not only lay the groundwork for inclusive educational work but also continually build on it.
