Just Now – A Toolbox for Teaching Human Rights
Sometimes issues like human rights or international justice seem far removed from our lives. Too complex, too big. But what if we could experience them in a way that makes them truly relevant to us?
The JustNow project makes exactly that possible. A toolbox of newly developed methods and a simulation game show what it feels like to encounter injustice, and what we can do about it. The tools are designed to make history and human rights topics easier to understand and more accessible. They are also meant to encourage young people to share their own experiences and connect with the topic in a more personal way.
The format emerged from the Model International Criminal Court (MICC) project, in which young people examine human rights violations and simulate trials at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
