We're looking for you
Become part of the Kreisau-Initiative

Benefits
What we can offer you.
Meaningful work
We believe in education that moves people and leaves a lasting impact. Our projects bring together young people with very different stories and backgrounds. They learn from one another, discover new perspectives, and grow beyond what they thought possible. Through our programmes, many travel abroad for the first time, form lasting friendships, and develop the courage to speak out against injustice. We equip them with knowledge, tools, and confidence to actively shape their own paths: in life, in their careers, and in their commitment to an open, peaceful society.
Professional and personal development
With us, you can contribute your ideas, try new things, and take on responsibility. We want you to be able to grow both professionally and personally, and to have room for creativity, learning, and development. Regular training opportunities and five days of educational leave per year are part of what we offer. We’ll support you in achieving your own goals and growing beyond what you thought possible.
Team
You’ll become part of a dedicated team that stands up for the values of the Kreisau-Initiative. We work closely together, share ideas, and find creative ways to further develop our educational work. Openness, trust, and good teamwork are just as much a part of what we do as taking a break for coffee together now and then. We always welcome fresh ideas and look forward to hearing yours!
Flexible working hours and home office arrangements
Our office in Berlin is at the heart of what we do. It is where we develop ideas, plans, and projects together. At the same time, it is important to us that work fits your life: alongside fixed core working hours, you can arrange your working hours flexibly and work from home when needed. For us, trust and self-organisation go without saying.
Stays abroad
Our work knows no (national) borders: most of our projects take place in other European countries. We carry out around 60 per cent of them at the International Youth Meeting Centre of the Krzyżowa Foundation in Poland, with which we have maintained a close partnership since our founding in 1989. Other projects take us to Romania, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Spain, Portugal, and many other countries. As part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in projects on site, get to know partner organisations, and experience international cooperation first-hand.
International Network
Our work thrives on diversity. We bring together people from across Europe and beyond. Together with our international partners and external experts, we also regularly develop new formats and methods to take democratic education further. In doing so, we learn from one another, grow together, and build a network that connects people across borders.
Our philosophy
Democracy is something we build together. The Kreisau-Initiative creates spaces where young people from around the world can come together, make their voices heard, and develop new perspectives. We encourage people to ask critical questions, inspire them to take action, and in doing so help build stronger communities for the future.

The international perspective is so essential because young people can travel to another country and meet peers from different cultures. Everyone gets real attention and inclusion, no one is left aside. This experience boosts confidence, broadens horizons, and helps participants discover their strengths and talents.
