What gives us strength?

Crises, wars, and conflicts, both global and personal, often leave deep marks. Many people have experienced traumatic events that they carry with them for a long time and that weigh heavily on them. Young people in particular need someone early on who will listen, understand, and support them.
The partnership “What Strengthens Us? Trauma-Sensitive Democracy Education” addresses this issue. Together with Via Bayern e.V., we have developed a digital platform that provides practical tools for professionals in youth work, education, and social work. This self-study tool helps them provide sensitive support to young people who have experienced trauma, better recognise signs of psychological distress, and create spaces where trust can grow.
The platform brings together three key topics: trauma sensitivity, mental health, and democracy education. Through explanatory videos, practical methods, and interactive exercises, professionals can find inspiration for their daily work. Also important are learning modules designed to encourage self-reflection, as well as opportunities for collaborative discussion.
