NextGen Rights
Children’s and young people’s rights are important. But they only matter if they can be felt in everyday life. That’s exactly what NextGen Rights is about. Young people from Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Germany come together to talk about their rights. They ask themselves: Where do we run into obstacles? What’s missing? And how can we be better protected and heard?
The goal is for everyone to have a say and help shape the project. Young people with disabilities, young people with refugee or migration experience, and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds also share what matters to them as part of the project. This shows just how different experiences can be and how much we can learn from one another.
Through workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities, the young people develop concrete ideas for greater participation and better protection of their rights. The results also have an impact beyond the project itself: the voices and perspectives gathered from young people during the project are made visible and heard in a publication. In addition, the findings feed into a guide for professionals and a collection of methods that can be used directly in youth work.
