Girls

Girls and young women should feel safe in their everyday lives. They should be able to be loud, quiet, angry, proud, or simply themselves, without being judged. The Girls project creates space for this. It offers a place where young women can share their issues and concerns, build trust with one another, and discover their own strengths.
True to the motto “Girls support girls,” this programme is all about self-confidence, respect, and mutual empowerment. Girls learn to listen to their feelings, recognise their own boundaries, and stand up for themselves and others.
In workshops focused on sport, self-defence, and body awareness, they learn to say “no” clearly and to push back when their boundaries are crossed. Art therapy methods such as “Expressive Art” and “Expressive Dance” are particularly helpful in this regard. Each Girls project has its own focus: sometimes it’s about finding their own voice, sometimes about exploring their own roots, and sometimes about identity or community. But the goal is always the same: to encourage girls to trust themselves and stand up for one another.
The trainers guide the participants step by step through the project: They show them and demonstrate how important women’s communities are and what trust and mutual support can look like in this setting.
The project is open to all girls, regardless of their background, abilities, or language. We ensure that the project is accessible to everyone, and interpreters translate the content into every language used in the project.
