In Ukraine, with Ukraine

The training brings together youth work professionals who are asking themselves: How can we support young people in war zones like Ukraine? How can we shape youth work in times of trauma? How can we create safe spaces where young people can share their experiences and find strength? And how can we build networks between Ukrainians and professionals from EU-/European countries?

Since the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, many Ukrainians have sought refuge in Chernivtsi, a city in western Ukraine. Among them are many young people who are building new lives there. However, the war is ever-present. Regular air raid alerts, curfews, and moments of silence are part of everyday life and take their toll.

In the training „In Ukraine, with Ukraine“ that takes place in Chernivtsi, professionals can share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop new ideas for supporting young people affected by war. A particular focus is on exchange between Ukraine and the EU. In this training, we want to work together to develop strategies for youth work with young people who have been displaced, forced to leave their homes, and experienced trauma.

At the same time, the meeting creates space for cross-border collaboration. Professionals and organisations have the chance to build lasting partnerships to strengthen inclusive and international youth work in the long term.
