benbi 2019
What does a good life mean to me, to others, and to the world? As part of the 2019 Berlin Development Education Program (benbi), we explored this question together with children and young people. In workshops, they discussed what makes people around the world happy and what the economy actually has to do with it. While elementary school students discovered how differently happiness can look for people around the world, older students questioned the use of gross domestic product as a measure of prosperity. Together, they developed their own ideas on how justice, sustainability, and satisfaction could be measured.
