Together for Europe

Every year, thousands of people risk their lives in the Mediterranean. They come to Europe in search of safety, hope, and a new home. In 2014, the number of people who fled across the Mediterranean toward Europe was particularly high. With this in mind, participants from both old and new EU member states gathered at “Together for Europe” to discuss what this means socially, historically, and politically for Europe as a whole and for the people living in Europe. Together, they explored the issues of flight and migration and their consequences. The focus of the discussion was: How can we ensure peaceful and fair coexistence for everyone in Europe?
