You’re scrolling through your feed: a short video, a comment, a hashtag like #climatescam. Suddenly, there it is: the claim that climate change isn’t caused by humans after all. Posts like these spread rapidly. And that is exactly what makes them dangerous.

Young people in particular are getting their information more and more often through social media. But among honest posts, opinions, and memes on Instagram, TikTok and similiar platforms, more and more misinformation and disinformation is finding its way in. Some downplay the climate crisis, while others stir up fear or doubt about science.

This is where Facts for Future comes in. The project makes visible how disinformation emerges, why it is so effective, and what we can do to counter it. Together, we develop strategies and methods to ensure that discussions around climate action remain democratic, fact-based, and effective.
