Inclusive training course to become a trainer in youth work

This inclusive training course is designed for people who want to become active in non-formal and political education.

Up to now, political education in Germany has been strongly shaped by representatives of the so-called majority society.

It is rare that people with disabilities, with migration and refugee biographies or without studies lead youth and educational programmes.

We want to contribute to making education more diverse, inclusive and participatory.

That's why we need you!

Through our project "Let's do it! Democracy needs inclusion" we want to reach out to different people. Inclusive and diversity-sensitive education needs the perspectives of many. Therefore, different representatives of society must participate in designing it and be involved in all decision-making processes.

Who is the target group for the training course?

  • The training course is open to people of different ages who like to work with young people and want to be active in non-formal youth work.
  • Everyone is welcome!

We want to make it possible for people with a diverse range of backgrounds to participate. We want to encourage people with any needs or kinds of barriers, impairments or disadvantages to apply, participate in the training and actively shape inclusive youth work.

  • After your registration we will send you a questionnaire and ask you to communicate your inclusion needs. The organising team will work with you to make the programme as inclusive and accessible as possible.

  • Our facilities and accommodation are largely barrier-free.
  • Different catering preferences can be accommodated.
  • The seminar languages are German and English in order to be able to include people whose mother tongue is not German.
  • We will try to take into account all inclusion needs in consultation with you.

Please let us know anything that is important so that you can feel comfortable and involved in the seminars.

Contents of the training "Let's do it! Democracy needs inclusion"

Two online meetings and four face-to-face seminars will be offered until June 2023. The different modules build on each other. If you wish, you can participate in individual modules or skip modules. However, we would be happy if you could take part in all the modules. That is why most of them will take place on weekends.

During and after the training, participants will have the opportunity to shadow and participate in national and international educational programmes of the partner network.
In this way, you can gain practical experience.

After completing the training, certified trainers will have the opportunity to work in national and international educational projects as part of the project team and to actively participate in shaping them. Of course, this form of cooperation in project teams is paid accordingly.
