Ole Jantschek is chair of the board of Kreisau-Initiative e.V., member of the board of the Krzyżowa Foundation for European Understanding and part of the general meeting of members of the nonprofit organisation Krzyżowa-Music. He studied International Relations and Eastern European Studies in Dresden, Lausanne, Kraków und Berlin. Since 2010, he has been working for the Protestant Academies in Germany as Head of Youth Education. His work focuses on European citizenship and right-wing populism in Europe, historical and political education in Europe and the Digital Society. For the Kreisau-Initiative he has developed and coordinated, among others, the projects "European Parliament Krzyżowa" and "Once upon today... in Europe".

Annemarie Cordes is a sociologist with many years of experience in the field of international youth exchange as the general secretary of the ICYE. From 1982 to 1990 she was the Youth education officer of the Protestant Youth Educational Centre "Haus Kreisau" in Berlin. From 1989 to 2011 she was the chair of the Kreisau-Initiative and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Krzyżowa Foundation for European Understanding since its establishment in 1990 until 2011. Annemarie Cordes is member of the Board of Trustees of the Freya von Moltke Foundation for the New Kreisau. In 2008 she received the "Unity Prize - Citizenship Award to German Unity" from the Federal Agency for Civic Education for "her convincing commitment to the European unification between East and West ".

Katrin Hattenhauer

Katrin Hattenhauer

Katrin Hattenhauer is a painter and a civil rights activist. She has been a member of the board since 2011.

Her work has been exhibited in Berlin, Hamburg, Houston, Leipzig, Bologna and Florence. During the late 80s she was a member of the DDR-opposition and helped launch the first Monday-demonstrations in Leipzig. On the 11th of September 1989 she was arrested and she was released shortly before the Wall came down. In 2003/2004, she launched the workshop-project "Take a Chance of Freedom", in which young people from Eastern and Western Europe work artistically with the issue of courage. 2015, Katrin Hattenhauer was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Heimgard Mehlhorn is a bookseller and a remedial teacher by vocation. Until 2012 she worked at different institutions helping children, adolescents and adults with multiple disabilities. As part of the Action Reconciliation Service For Peace, since 1968 she took part in various summer camps and in 1971 she was in Poland for the first time as part of such an exchange. She implemented this experience in German-Polish encounters of young people with disabilities in Krzyżowa and Berlin. She is promoting and supporting projects in the field of inclusive teaching. Since February 2015, she is a board member of the Kreisau-Initiative.

Klaus Pumberger studied political sciences and history in Salzburg, Innsbruck and Warsaw. He wrote his PhD dissertation about "Solidarity on Strike. Political crisis, social protest and the question of power in Poland 1980/81". Since 2002, he has been working as a personnel developer, recruiter and intern management coach in Vienna. He is currently the head of the interdisciplinary European academy "Akademie an der Grenze" (Border Academy). He has also worked as a project leader for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Prague, Bratislava and Warsaw as well as for the Hans Böckler Foundation in Frankfurt/ Main and Brussels. He has collaborated with the Kreisau-Initiative within the project "Reconciliation in Europe" (2010). In the fall of 2015, his book "Worüber wir nicht geredet haben. Arisierung, Verdrängung, Widerstand. Ein Haus und die Geschichte zweier Familien" came out.
