In 2019, also our partner, Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The jubilee activities will be accompanied by the key words respect, dialogue, and mutual understanding, setting the direction of Foundation's actions, but also emphasizing the values that have always been important in and for Krzyżowa.
The Krzyżowa Foundation invites you to the following events:
Conference "Breakthrough year 1989 - semifree elections in Poland and Polish-German new beginning in Krzyżowa", 3rd June 2019
"The Challenge for Dialogue: Democracy, Religion, Resistance and Society" conference, 10th - 12th June 2019
A conference in which the Foundation would like to invite you to discuss how the Krzyżowa Foundation - but also other existing spaces for dialogue and meetings - can be used today to deal effectively with internal and international conflicts. The issues that will become the axis of our deliberations and discussions are: democracy, human rights, resistance, values.
On August 15th, Krzyżowa will host a family picnic to which we will invite all residents of Krzyżowa, Grodziszcze, Świdnica, and the surrounding area.
The programme includes attractions for children and whole families: games, workshops. All this with the sounds of music in the background. There will also be stands with food and snacks waiting for the visitors.
On 1 September the Foundation would like to invite you to a special concert which will take place as a part of the 5th edition of the International Chamber Music Festival Krzyżowa-Music. This unique event showing the cooperation between artists of different nationalities will gain special significance on this day. We invite you to be a part of this musical piece.
On 12th November 2019, at 12.00, The Foundation invites you to attend a service that will remind us the Reconciliation Mass of 30 years ago. We hope that in the courtyard of Krzyżowa we will be accompanied by witnesses of that time, representatives of various levels of government, friends of the Foundation, partners, co-workers and all those for whom the idea of peaceful coexistence of Poland and Germany, but also of the whole Europe, is close.
Conference focused on Polish-German cooperation in the self-government sector. The conference will take stock of cooperation between Polish and German local governments in the context of the 30 year-long process of reconciliation and mutual understanding and the impact of the Reconciliation Mass on bilateral self-government relations. Participants will also have the opportunity to share good practices. Perspectives and challenges for local government partnerships in the coming years will also be discussed.
