Empowering Youth through Visualisation

The project will consist of workshops and training sessions, where you have the opportunity to learn new skills, share experiences, and develop practical strategies for incorporating visualization into your youth work practice. We will also provide ongoing support and mentoring throughout the training, ensuring that everyone have the necessary resources and guidance to implement what they have learned.
Why visualisation in youth work?
- Promoting participation: By using visual aids, people with different learning and communication needs can better participate in the educational process and express their thoughts and ideas more effectively.
- Improving communication: Visualization and visual communication can help convey and illustrate complex information and relationships, which in turn improves understanding and collaboration between different groups and individuals.
- Increasing motivation: Visual aids such as images and graphics can increase learners' motivation and interest by making the learning process more engaging and interactive.
- Fostering creativity: Visual aids can foster creativity and creative thinking by allowing learners to express their thoughts and ideas in innovative and original ways.
- Promoting learning: Visualization techniques can be used to make learning more engaging and interactive. By using visual aids, youth workers can help young people to understand complex concepts and remember important information more easily.
- Strengthening inclusion: By using visual aids, different needs, experiences, and perspectives can be integrated into the educational process, which contributes to a stronger sense of inclusion and a positive learning environment.
The project outcomes will include increased awareness and understanding of the value of visualization in youth work, improved skills and competencies of youth workers, and enhanced engagement and empowerment of young people. We believe that this training will have a lasting impact on your youth work, and will contribute to the development of a more inclusive and empowering learning environment.
Requirements for participation
- Are you active in youth work or motivated to expand on your knowledge about resource-oriented approaches in youth work? Are you interested in the topic and youth work, but have never done it before? Either way, we invite you to apply!
- We value diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and work fields. Don’t hesitate to get in touch the project coordinator (kosek [at] kreisau.de) to find out more about the project.
- However, there are a few conditions:
- You need to be an adult (18 years upwards)
- You need to live in a country of the European Union. Citizenship in this countries is not a precondition.
- The training is going to be held in Polish and English (with translations), so a good level of one of this languages would be required.
- In our activities we support the principle of a safer space, where no one is discriminated or bullied because of their background or person. We ask you to respect the same principle.
In the process of selection of participants, priority will be given to people who:
- have prior experience working with young people, or are currently working with them, and particularly with young people with a disadvantaged background (people experiencing geographical, social, economic, cultural, educational barriers)
- are motivated to integrate lessons learned from this training in their work with young people
- are experiencing geographical, social, economic, cultural, educational barriers (e.g. LGBTQI, BIPOC, Roma, immigrants, lower income, rural areas, single parents, disabilities, obstacles in access to education etc.)
Accessibility
We want to enable the participation of people with all kinds of abilities. We will try to adjust the venue, our methodology or try to provide support systems which are needed. Accommodation and food:
- Participants will be accommodated in shared rooms of 2-4 people.
- The venue offers full board. You can choose food requirements in the application form.
Health & Travel insurance
You are responsible for your own insurance.
Participation fee:
60 Euro per person
Money shouldn´t be an obstacle to participating. Please contact us, if you need an adjustment to this payment (kosek [at] kreisau.de).
Travel costs:
The travel costs will be reimbursed based on real costs based on the payment receipt and boarding passes/tickets. The maximum reimbursement is defined by the funding rules of the European Erasmus+ programme. Please contact us before booking, so we can plan your trip in the best way for you and us.

Main trainers:
Elżbieta Kosek is a specialist in educational programmes and has been working for the Kreisau-Initiative since 2013. Her focus in international youth work is on promoting inclusion and diversity. In addition to her work with young people, Elżbieta also facilitates trainings and seminars for youth workers and professionals in different educational contexts throughout Europe. She has gained extensive experience in the use of visual aids and visualisation techniques in her educational activities. She is a firm believer in the power of visual communication and regularly incorporates these techniques into her work with young people.
Agnieszka Halama is an accomplished trainer and entrepreneur who has made a significant impact in the field of visual thinking. She is also a certified trainer and facilitator for visual thinking, graphic recording, and graphic facilitation. As the founder of Centrum Halama (https://centrumhalama.pl/index.php) and the School of Visual Practitioners, she provides training and certification for trainers in visual thinking. Agnieszka's expertise in these areas enables her to assist educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, and businesses in creating unique and personalized training materials and presentations. Additionally, Agnieszka is actively involved in inclusive international youth exchanges and has gained a wealth of experience working with different young people and approaches over the years.
